Monks and nuns have believed that on these high rocks they are closer to God and far away from ordinary life. In the 11th century monks from the Greek Orthodox Church settled the area seeking refuge on high ground. Ambiance, divinity, serene scenery, orthodoxy, these are some of the words that describe this marvelous place.
Our Meteora private tour starts from Athens early in the morning.
After a 4-hour drive, you will arrive at Meteora – a World Heritage site in the heartland of Thessaly. With our licensed guide you will learn about the rich history of the place and the megalithic mountains reaching 1,300 feet above ground. Religion is an important characteristic of the Greek nation. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about eastern orthodoxy from our guide and feel deeply how important religion is for the Greeks.
Besides, you may have the chance to admire an Egyptian vulture flying upon this monumental mark in Greece’s natural history. The Meteora region is the home of this endangered species.
Once you have enjoyed our private tour in Meteora, you will be driven to the village of Kalambaka. Walk around at leisure and savor a traditional lunch.
Optionally, you can take part in a truffle hunting expedition and have truffles for lunch at an extra cost.
At the end of the day we will drive you back to Athens.

PAYMENT
A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The deposit can be paid by credit card or via Pay Pal. The rest of the amount can be paid in cash, on board at the end of the tour.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND
A participant may change or cancel an agreed service. No penalty will be incurred provided a change in date is made at least 5 days prior to departure and other dates are available.
Except as outlined above our cancellation policy applies to our trips and tours.
Refunds will be made within thirty (30) days of the cancellation date.
Guide me in Greece reserves the right to cancel any tour and all participants will receive a full refund.
